Welcome, Rev. Dr. Olive Mahabir

The Presbytery of St. Augustine welcomes Rev. Dr. Olive Mahabir to our presbytery as pastor of Highlands United Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, Florida. The Service of Installation will be held on March 10, 2024, at Highlands United Presbyterian Church at 4:00 p.m. The guest preacher will be Rev. Anne HK Apple. To help with planning, please RSVP. 

Dr. Mahabir is a fourth-generation Presbyterian and the first in her family to be an ordained minister. She was born on the island of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. In ministry for more than 20 years, she has pastored churches in Michigan, Atlanta and Jonesboro, Georgia. She’s a graduate of St. Andrew’s Theological College in Trinidad, the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, and Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia.

Fun fact: Dr. Mahabir is the author of the 2023-2024 Presbyterian Women study Sacred Encounters.
